Hey there, you can call me Sneaky.
I want to make some extra buck and I have money to invest. I am ready to buy 4 x 10 GH's, this could help me to build me house yay!
I work as a contractor IT so if you need technical help for setting this machine, i'm willing to share my Skype.
Can you guide me a bit?

Here's a pretty hardcore link (probably most useful you're an investor, and do bitcoin mining on the side): mining.thegenesisblock.comIt includes a future-earnings calculator that's a little more comprehensive than the bitcoinx one. I think it's fair to say that, if difficulty keeps doubling without BTC value going up, profitability doesn't look so good...

I like that link as well, they put a lot of work into it. Although I would like it to be more comprehensive in the percentage for each month instead. Having a steady recurring percent throughout time just didn't make as much sense to me (I expect a much larger initial growth at first 200% a month for 3 months, then taper off to 10-20%). I adjust the bitcoin value too (starts at 0%).

But if difficulty rises 3x per month for three months, we're talking about our 2 TH/s miner in January being the rough equivalent of a 74 GH/s miner at the same time in October... if last week's difficulty were the base in October, we'd yield something like a third of a BTC per day for the ENTIRE miner... 30 GH/s would be the equivalent of three or four USB Block Erupters today. And that's before the hosting cost... :/

I plan on adding October purchase options when the website comes up soon. I'll keep ya updated when it's up and running . Good to keep options open, you can have a lifetime October 4 GH for $249 and 50 cent hosting per gh. 10 slots open. Any takers? (I made a pre-order in July for a part ownership of a KNC Miner)

The cost of USB Block Erupters has fallen to about $20 apiece, so you can get 12 of them (4 GH/s total) for about $240. They run about 2.5W apiece, so that's 30W, or about 21 kWh per month (a little under $2.50 here in Seattle). The only limitation is that you need to have Internet access and two open USB 2.0 ports on an always-on computer, and you'll need to buy a couple of 7-port USB hubs that'll push 3.5A at 5V, and a couple of USB-powered cooling fans (about $35 and $9, respectively). So the hardware will cost you around $322, and you can probably receive it next Tuesday. I suppose you also need to spent the time to set that all up. I already have 2 GH/s worth of Block Erupters, so that's not a challenge for me...

Apparently it you want to buy ten USB Block Eruptors today, you can get them for $180 (just saw a page on ssinc.bigcartel.com that offers them for that). Or the new "BlueFury" USB stick from BitFury purports to do around 2.5 GH/s on one 2.5W stick for somewhere around $150 (shipping October), which means you won't even need the hubs and fans... though apparently the initial street price on those will be closer to $250 due to supply/demand.
